Nadia Ruffieux

FULL-TIME COMPETITIVE TEACHER

Nadia began dancing at the tender age of 6 at Simcoe Dance Academy. From those earliest of days she would spend 12 years dancing there until the age of 18. Always eager to push herself in a bid to grow and improve as a dancer, Nadia would spend 4 of those years as an assistant/teacher, leading the younger members of the studio.

As a dancer Nadia boasts talents for a broad range of styles, including, ballet, modern, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hiphop, and acro, which makes her an incredibly well-rounded performer. The versatility has served her well in live performances, which includes a dancer role for Universal’s Juno week with Reve, OTF’s gala for sickkids 2023 (directed by Mitchell Jackson), and Studio North’s studio six show (choreographed by Derick Robinson). She has also competed on Canada’s Got Talent as an ensemble dancer.

In addition to being Acrobatic Arts certified, Nadia completed her training at Intrepid Dance Company, where she trained under renowned faculty that includes Mitchell Jackson, Derek Piquette, Linda Garneau, Kelly Shaw, Alisha Lucchese, Edgar Hpa, Tara Pillon, Angelina Leofanti, Christina Kotsopoulos, and Derick Robinson. She has worked as an assistant to Mitchell Jackson (Choreography and intensives), Derek Piquette (acrobatic arts), and Linda Garneau.

Nadia is now focusing on her next steps in her professional and teaching career. She continues to delve into the world of choreography and has found a new path in fitness training. Nadia also works as a personal trainer and pilates instructor and will be using these skills working with Atheltix in the coming season.
